The course encircles around the areas of production planning and control, design, materials, processes, and quality control. The technologies involved in advanced manufacturing can be divided into three main components: efficient production, intelligent production, and effective organization. M. Tech in an Advanced manufacturing system focuses on the precise requirements of the manufacturing industry like laser processing, intelligent robotics, microengineering, nanotechnology, non-conventional machining, etc. The curriculum is designed by blending the course contents from traditional engineering fields with the demands of contemporary practices. Swarm Institute of Technology aims to train the students by utilizing modern tools such as statistical data analysis, process optimization, element analysis, simulation, etc. Throughout the course duration, the prime objective of faculties is to concentrate on practical problems encountered in the manufacturing industry.

Manufacturing Engineers contribute to the production of all possible items we use. Their role is to give inputs on the design and operation of integrated systems for the production of goods. These systems may include computer networks, robots, machine tools, and materials-handling equipment. A post-graduate M. Tech in Advanced Manufacturing Systems might be hired to:

  • Automate a chemical manufacturing facility through computer integrated technology
  • Design circuit board manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality
  • Develop the best assignment of machines and equipment to various manufacturing cells in discrete parts manufacturing
