The technologies involved in advanced manufacturing can be divided into three main groupings: efficient production, intelligent production and effective organization.

The Advanced Manufacturing Systems program provides a sequence of technical and manufacturing courses for students who are currently in, or plan to enter, today’s advanced manufacturing environment where multi-skilled workers are in high demand.  Students wishing to continue their education beyond the degree in the areas of Manufacturing Engineering  will benefit from the program as well. 

 

Career Outcome

Manufacturing Engineers focus on the design and operation of integrated systems for the production of high-quality, economically competitive products. These systems may include computer networks, robots, machine tools, and materials-handling equipment. For example, a manufacturing engineer might be hired to:

  • Automate a chemical manufacturing facility through computer integrated technology

  • Design circuit board manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality

  • Develop the best assignment of machines and equipment to various manufacturing cells in discrete parts manufacturing

  • Develop and implement fabrication processes for Nano-/micro-devices

  • Identify the most cost-effective material handling and facility layout alternative for an aerospace manufacturing company

Facts & figures regarding course

Department of Mechanical Engineering has experienced faculties and enthusiastic students who have achieved prize in BAJA – 2014, 1st prize in ATV Championship 1.0 in GTU. Runner‘s up in ATV Championship 2.0 and participated in Supra SAE INDIA, Along with this students had attended several workshops and won trophies in IIT- Kanpur and IIT – Bombay, also we have students who are active in sports related activities. Such as Cricket, Football, Boxing, etc. Recently, one of our students Mr. Ritesh Jain has been awarded ‘gold medal’ in Advanced Manufacturing System.
